HERE YOU WILL FIND A LIST AND DESCRIPTION OF ALL BLOCK CATEGORIES AVAILABLE IN THE BLOCKLY PROGRAMMING ENVIRONMENT.

IN ORDER TO HAVE ACCESS TO ALL BLOCKS, YOU HAVE TO SWITCH ON THE EXPERT MODE IN THE SETTINGS.

Categories

Logic – In this menu you can find loops, conditions and comparison blocks. The «Do forever» block is used in almost every program. Also the condition block «If/Then» is very central and allows many exciting programs.

Variables – All blocks with variable and mathematical components are arranged here. Wherever «something» appears, you can rename the variable «something» by clicking on the dropdown menu and giving it a corresponding name.

Functions – The «Functions» menu contains only one block and is designed for advanced users. If you want to build a very large program, you can use functions to keep the overview.

Oxocard – Under «Oxocard» all blocks for switching on and off are arranged. Furthermore there is the query if a button is pressed and the blocks for the battery voltage.

Matrix  – The Matrix menu is the most extensive submenu. Here you can find all blocks that output something on the LED matrix, be it the color definition, the output of letters or the drawing of geometric commands.

Time  – In this menu the most important block is the «Wait» block, it is used in almost every program. In this menu you will also find the blocks to program a clock.

Weather  – In the weather menu you can get the weather data from Meteotest and turn the Oxocard into a weather station. You can display a forecast as an icon on the Oxocard as well as the current values for temperature, wind, humidity, dew point and precipitation. 

Communication – For this menu you need another Oxocard user. There are blocks for sending and receiving messages, numbers and broadcasts.

Accelerometer  – Here you control the accelerator. You can select one of the three axes (X,Y,Z) and then set the acceleration or the cursor. It is also possible to check the orientation of the Oxocard. 

Speaker  – In the speaker menu there are numerous blocks to set a tone (note, heart, octave, sound effects). You can also increase or decrease the volume.

Microphone  – Here you can control the built-in microphone; record and play sounds and wait for a loud noise to program a response to it.

Extras  – In this category are the special blocks with which you can control additional hardware.
